Why wouldn't the computer let me win? - tsloper_admin - 02-20-2025

This happens in Safety ON mode, where the computer won't let you make a fatal error

Most likely, you were trying to do something against the rules, or you misinterpreted the target hand on the card, or there is an error in your hand of tiles. (See examples below.)

In Safety OFF mode, the computer lets you declare mahj just any old time, whether or not the rules allow you to.

It's also possible that another player in your game (a live person, not a bot) didn't notice that he or she needed to Pass on the discard. Check the three-dots indicator by the other players at the table. If someone's three dots are flickering, he or she is "thinking" about whether or not to claim the current live discard. If you're all using the Chat feature, you can ask them to move or press Pass. If you're on the phone with one another as you play, you can ask them to please make a move or press Pass.

Examples why the computer won't let you win:

- Your hand does not match a hand on the card. Perhaps you misinterpreted the color-coding, or you're trying to use a joker as a single or pair.

- Your tiles comprise a Concealed hand, and you have an exposure atop your rack.
