If the iPad's onscreen keyboard obscures your view of a box you're trying to type in, there are two ways you can fix it.
1. Tap and hold the small "keyboard" button at the lower right corner of the onscreen keyboard, if present. A pop-up menu appears, giving you three options. When the keyboard fills the width of the screen and is docked at the bottom of the screen, the pop-up menu offers Undock, Split, and Floating.
Those three options change depending on which state the keyboard is in. If it is Split, and not Docked at the bottom of the screen, the options are Merge, Dock and Merge, and Floating. You can choose whichever mode you like for your onscreen keyboard.
2. In Settings > General > Keyboards, you can set Split Keyboard, and other options.
If you have the smaller, Floating keyboard and you want it to expand, use the two-finger Pinch-Zoom gesture to change its configuration.
Another thing that might be hidden by the keyboard is the "Remember Me" checkbox. You can deactivate the keyboard to see the checkbox and press the box next to "Remember Me" to put a checkmark in it, and the App will remember your username and password, so you won't have to remember your password or type it in when you log in.
